The University of Zambia (UNZA) is the leading tertiary
education institution in Zambia and is renowned for its
teaching and research achievements. Its contribution to the
socio-economic and cultural architecture of Zambia and the
sub-continent has been outstanding.
Established in 1965 through an Act of Parliament, the
University of Zambia has 31,000 students studying in over 160
degree and postgraduate degree programmes.
UNZA has thirteen Schools namely; Agricultural Sciences,
Business, Education, Engineering, Health Sciences, Humanities
& Social Sciences, Law, Medicine, Mines, Natural Sciences,
Nursing Sciences, Public Health and Veterinary Medicine.
Outstanding academics are at the heart of the University's
teaching, research and community service endeavours.
Building on its long history of teaching engagement, the
University of Zambia is committed to sustaining and
advancing its position as one of the top Universities in Africa.
